Tailor-made and hand-stitched dress in silk foliage from the Italian luxury brand Emmy Boo. Emmy Boo manufactures her entire clothing collection by hand in Sicily.

The Costanza dress covers shoulders and arms but emphasizes the back, making it surprisingly elegant and refined. With long bell-shaped sleeves, slight flair on the hem and a midi i.e. ankle-length dress, this garment in all its simplicity is nevertheless completely unique. The back is decorated with pretty and graceful roses in true Emmy Boo style.

The Emmy Boo brand makes exclusive and numbered garments whose inspiration is taken from famous Sicilian and/or Italian women/icons.

Inspiration:
The dress is inspired by Costanza d'Altavilla who was an important woman in the Middle Ages and Queen of Sicily. She was known for her strength and diplomatic skill, which enabled her to unite Sicily during a time when the island was inhabited by many different cultures. She was married to Henry IV of Swabia, son of Frederick Barbarossa, and after his death she ruled alone as regent during the early years of her son, Federico II. Federico II later became one of Sicily's most prominent kings. Costanza d'Altavilla is considered an iconic figure for her political ability and her role in shaping the history of Sicily during the Middle Ages.
