Historical inspiration:
This dress is actually inspired by two women, namely Dorotea and Geneviefa who were historical figures who became known for their role in raising the issue of equality and women's equal rights between men and women. In 1725, Luigi Sermento published a pamphlet strongly criticizing the female world. In response to this criticism, Dorotea and Geneviefa wrote replies in the form of Sicilian verse, marking the beginning of the first feminist publications for equal rights between men and women. Their response to the criticism helped to highlight issues of gender equality and women's rights.
