The time of freedom

Porcelain figurines began to become part of Sweden's art and culture during the late 18th century, especially during the time of Gustav III.

During the reign of Gustav III (1771-1792), Sweden was still in the period known as the "Time of Freedom". It was a time of political and cultural development that followed the reign of Charles XII and continued until the early part of the reign of Gustav IV Adolf when Sweden eventually entered a period known as "The Gustavian Age". Gustav III's time in power was marked by strong cultural influences from the continent and a desire to reform and modernize Sweden in many areas, especially in art, theater and politics.

Gustav III was a great admirer of art and culture from the continent, including porcelain figurines from various parts of Europe. During his reign, these figures became popular and sought after within the Swedish upper class and the royal court. This period marked the beginning of an increased interest in and influence of porcelain figurines in Swedish art and culture.

How do I enter my discount code?

If your discount code is not entered automatically, you can add the discount code at checkout.
